Susan Reeder Jessee Files For
 County Council At Large Seat

Susan Reeder Jessee, a life long resident of Frederick County has announced her candidacy for Frederick County Council At Large. "I am deeply honored to be walking in the footsteps of my parents, Odette and Bruce Reeder who both served collectively 28 years in the county. Their example of the importance of public service encouraged me to run for this office at such an exciting time in the history of Frederick County with the new form of government."

Jessee is a proud graduate of the Frederick County Public School system and received her bachelors and masters degrees from Hood College. Her professional background includes working as a scientist at the start of her career and then spending the last 20 years on the business side of science in roles that included strategic planning, business development, marketing, financial analysis and budget preparation for small, large and not for profit organizations. Her background also includes experience in economic development which helps greatly in understanding the complexity of business retention and recruitment while maintaining a diverse industrial base. Jessee is a small business owner in the City of Frederick as well that was established in 1985, that her husband presides over.

During her career Jessee traveled throughout the United States extensively and always took the time to explore the economic strengths of each place she visited as a way to bring back an idea that could possibly benefit Frederick County. She believes that Frederick County is truly unique and is a great place to work, live and raise a family. Its abundance of history, culture, architecture, a strong economy, excellent schools, communities, and top notch universities makes it unlike anyplace else in the state. The importance of creating family supporting jobs, supporting a top educational system, and providing services to those that need it the most from birth to death for Frederick County residents are things that she will focus on.

Jessee is married to Lawrence Jessee, has two grown children and lives in Middletown. She was an original board member of the Frederick Innovative Technology Center, Inc. (FITCI), currently sits on the client selection committee at FITCI and served on the MdBio Program Committee with the Tech Council of Maryland. If elected Jessee is dedicated to bringing her background and knowledge as well as her passion for listening to all Frederick County residents and businesses.
