Enjoys Publication of 2nd Book
Marion Lee, a resident of
Emmitsburg, has written a book entitled, Of Moose and
Miracles. Marion is married to Edward Levandowski. They are
the parents of three daughters and the proud grandparents of
three grandchildren. Marion moved to Emmitsburg five years ago
after her husband retired. They had lived in the Dallas area
for ten years before returning to their roots. It was while
visiting a dear friend in Emmitsburg that Marion became
enchanted with our little town.
"Although I am originally from Pennsylvania, and had
visited Maryland on many occasions, I had never been to
Emmitsburg and I must confess, it was love at first sight.
Emmitsburg is holy ground. There is such a rich heritage of
faith here. The stories I write all have a God Touch-I love to
share experiences people have had where they know, without a
doubt, that God has touched their lives. Life is full of
frustrations and sorrows and we all need to be reminded of
just how much God loves us."
It wasn't long after settling in Emmitsburg that Marion became
active in the community. In addition to occasionally writing
human interest stories for the Emmitsburg Dispatch, she is
involved in volunteer work at St. Catherine's Nursing Home and
the Mission of Mercy. As a free lance writer, Marion feels
Emmitsburg provides just the right atmosphere. "In
Emmitsburg, we're privileged to have places like the Basilica
and the Grotto where real flesh and blood heroes of the faith
have set the tone. It's not only a great place to live but a
great place to write as well!"
Of Moose and Miracles is a book that offers a personal glimpse
into the deep faith of a family nurtured in love. There are
seven children and the youngest, Kraig, is suddenly stricken
with a brain stem tumor. During Kraig's illness, Divine
Providence leads the family into the path of a seminarian, a
late vocation. It doesn't take long to realize that a
mysterious and wondrous plan is afoot. Through the
transcendent power of God, a partnership is forged in time and
in eternity that fortifies the faith of the newly ordained
priest, Fr. Jacques LaPointe, enabling him to move mountains
in his ministry.
Of Moose and Miracles is a story that will lift your heart and
restore your faith. It's about a family that everyone can
identify with--you will experience the depth of their pain
but, in the end, you can't help but rejoice in recognition of
the grace that God lavishes upon them.
The title embodies the innocent playfulness of a child and the
reality of bona fide miracles.
Of Moose and Miracles was awarded the Project Oasis Book Award
for offering hope, strength and courage in the lives of
children and their families. The cost of the book is $12.95
and it is available at St. Philomena's bookstore in Emmitsburg
or on the internet by going to Amazon.com, or you can order it
directly through the publisher: CMJ Marian Publishers, PO Box
661, Oak Lawn, IL 60454.
