Mrs. Catherine A. Marsden, 75,
formerly of Emmitsburg and currently
of Hanover Homewood at Plum Creek,
died Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at the
Hanover (Pa.) Hospital.
Born Jan. 30, 1929, in
Washington, D.C., she was a daughter
of the late Robert J. and Vencentia
Sebold Conlon, M.D.
Surviving is her husband of 54
years, Joseph R. Marsden Sr. of
Hanover.
She was a member of
St. Joseph's
Roman Catholic Church, Emmitsburg.
She was one of the founders of the
Open Salt Collectors of the Atlantic
Region, and she and her husband
operated an antiques shop in
Emmitsburg in the 1980s. She was a
graduate of the Marjorie Webster
Junior College in Washington, D.C.
She is also survived by one son,
Joseph R. Marsden Jr. of Silver
Spring; two daughters, Ann Louise
Drale of Renonodo Beach, Calif., and
Mary Catherine Covert of York, Pa.;
three grandsons, Joseph J. Marsden,
William Salters and Michael Salters,
all of York; one granddaughter,
Katherine Drale of Renondo Beach;
one great-grandson, Evan Marsden;
and one great-granddaughter, Mikita
Marsden of York.
Funeral services will be held at
11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 6, with a Mass
of Christian Burial from St.
Joseph's Roman Catholic Church,
Emmitsburg, with her pastor, the
Rev. Stephen Trzecieski, C.M., as
the celebrant. Interment will be in
New St. Joseph's Cemetery,
Emmitsburg.
