Rules for Speaking at Public Meetings
Those attending Town meetings
who are planning to speak need to sign in on the public comments sign-up sheet prior to the meeting beginning. All Town meetings begin
at 7:30 PM.
Public Comments are taken and addressed in the following format:
- First you must sign-in, if you have a specific agenda item(s) that you would like to address please
indicate that when you sign-in.
- If you signed-up to speak on a specific agenda item you will be given your time to speak when the
council addresses that agenda item. If you do not indicate a specific agenda item you will be given your time to speak after
the council finishes addressing the last agenda item.
- When recognized by the president of the Board of Commissioners you must go to the podium to give your
public comment, stating your name and address.
- The President of the Board of Commissioners is in charge of the meeting at all times. When
speaking at the meeting you should address your questions/comments to the President of the Board, the President of the Board
will address the other Council members and Town Staff as needed.
- When speaking at the
meeting you are asked to keep your speaking
time to four minutes or less.
