During September the staff met with representatives of
St. Joseph’s Church. The result was to produce an
approved plan for the extension of sanitary sewer to the
Church. St. Joseph’s has now acquired all necessary
permits to complete the job. *In September, the staff
met with American Pool Management to finalize pool
winterization plans and solicit bids for pool repairs
and upgrades. Those bids have been forwarded to Pat
Feeser and Dan Fissel who are overseeing these
renovations.

In September, the staff met with representatives of
Mount Saint Mary’s University to pursue the possibility
of extending proposed bike trails onto Mount property
that is contiguous with the Town’s property that is
proposed for bike trails. The University has also formed
a land use committee and the staff has been asked to
serve on that committee.

In September, the staff met twice with representatives
of Buckeye Development on the potential annexation of
Silver fancy Farm. Buckeye representatives made an
informal presentation to the Planning Commission on
September 26, 2005. A conceptual markup of the proposed
plan of development is now available in the planning
office.

On September 7, the staff attended a FEMA workshop for
Municipal Flood Plain Managers, including a review of
the new Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) which are now
in review.

On September 14, the staff along with Mayor Hoover, Mr.
Haller ,and Commissioner Blanchard attended a growth
management workshop sponsored by the Maryland Municipal
League.

On September 26, the staff along with Mr. Haller and Dan
Fissel met with representatives of the Maryland
Department of Environment to discuss agreements for
Enhanced Nutrient removal at the Town’s sewer plant.

The staff continues to work on the update of the
Comprehensive Plan. An initial draft review will be
presented at the October Planning Commission meeting .
